Character Arc Notes
Initial Hatred: Consumed by his desire for revenge.
Skill Building: Learning the skills he believes will help him achieve his revenge.
Temptation: Meeting people or encountering situations that tempt him to stray from or expedite his path of vengeance.
Moral Dilemma: Being faced with a situation that makes him question his quest for revenge.
Climax: Confronting his father's murderer and making a choice.
Resolution: Depending on his choice, either finding a new path or succumbing to his hatred.
John Truby KEY POINT: Your plot depends on how you withhold and reveal information. Plotting involves “the masterful management of suspense and mystery, artfully leading the reader to an elaborate … space that is always full of signs to be read, but always menaced with misreading until the very end.”

Initial Hatred:

Hate of the police who did nothing for his father

While in juvie he read Crime and Punishment and doesn’t believe that a man who pursues and ultimately completes his revenge will suffer

Plans on going to Japan to investigate
Inciting incident:
Cops have probable cause to investigate me because I am covered in blood. I’m actually covered in blood because I just had my debut fight minutes ago.
I can use this to showcase my hatred for the police. Coming after me despite me not committing any crimes.
Maybe I can have them find me coming out of the slums after I took a stroll through there. I return home to find the newspaper clippings and business card.
In the dialogue I want to show my intelligence, impulsivity, lack of trust in others, etc
Also, I want to show what evidence and info I’ve found in my own investigation up to this point, if any.
Do not reveal the fact that he lives with his brother nor the fact that he is a twin
Act 2
Main plot: He thinks that the killer is the owner of the restaurant (why?)
Mysterious letter included a business card for the restaurant
Oscar starts working at Unagi restaurant
Develop a relationship between Oscar and the Owner
Subplot: introduce twin brother
An eye for an eye
Do not reveal the relation to Oscar
Temptation:
Act 3 (Turning Point)
Main plot: Oscar no longer wants to kill the Owner because he thinks he is a good person and forgives him
Oscar starts to hang out with the frequent customer and goes to the smoking bar in Osaka where he begins to have a psychological change
Finds evidence that the Owner isn’t and couldn’t have been the killer
So he starts to think back again, who sent Oscar the letter and why?
Crime occurs which perhaps is similar to how his father was killed, is it the same killer?
Subplot: Introduce the detective character
Do not reveal he is the frequent customer
Do not reveal he is the one who contacted Oscar to help him find the restaurant.
Do not reveal that he was once a cop
Moral Dilemma: Oscar’s thirst for revenge has faded, so despite uncovering the truth behind his father’s death, he chooses forgiveness. However, his brother feels otherwise. As his brother is gets closer and closer to his target, Oscar must quickly make another tough decision. Who does he protect, his brother, connected by birth and blood, or the Owner of the restaurant who has become like a father to him?
Act 4
The cop knows the main detective character and reveals the fact that he was once a cop
How does Oscar react
